Agfa Spends Summer Teaching Benefits of Technology

Ridgefield Park, NJ - August 11th, 2003 - Refusing to rest during the hot days of summer, Agfa's technology experts will be out on the road, bringing the latest developments and benefits of :ApogeeX, Agfa's fully automated PDF-based workflow, to different areas of the country in the "Agfa :X Tour." For those looking to stay ahead of the technology curve during the summer months, they'll also be leading the free educational technology seminars, "Turning Technology into Value."

On the :X Tour, Agfa will highlight the technology and trends essential for productivity and business integration. Besides learning first-hand about the industry's latest end-to-end prepress automation software, :ApogeeX, attendees can also learn about Agfa's new XM screening solution, :Sublima, and how to get ink jet screened proofs with :Sherpa.
"Attendees will see how an automated workflow utilizing JDF and PDF can enhance their operations, effectively turning a printer into a Graphic Enterprise," said Susan Wittner, Marketing Director, Agfa.
The :X Tour will also provide valuable information on Half Tone Screening for :Sherpa Ink Jet Proofing and :Sublima XM Screening for computer-to-plate. Owners, Production, Prepress and Technology/IT Managers and Print Specifiers can attend one of two ½ day sessions.

Meanwhile, Agfa continues its "Turning Technology into Value" Educational Series, being hosted by the Printing Industry Association of Georgia (PIAG) and the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA). These seminars underscore the importance of using the appropriate technologies to help provide integration, improve productivity and increase profits.
Topics for the series include: emerging technologies, planning the path for growth, ink jet proofing, and an overview on the latest in screening technology.
