Presstek Establishes Middle East Distribution Channel with REDA International
Press release from the issuing company
HUDSON, N.H., Aug. 5 -- Presstek, Inc., a leading provider of direct digital imaging technology, today announced that in order to answer an increasing demand for environmentally friendly CTP solutions in the Middle East and to strengthen its worldwide distribution strategy, it has appointed REDA International to sell and service its Dimension series of computer-to-plate systems and chemistry-free CTP plates in the Middle East.
Established in 1986, REDA International has its head office in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The family owned business, which is one of the leading Graphic Arts equipment trading houses in the Middle East, will base the Presstek CTP dealership in its successful commercial printing company in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. New showroom facilities are due to open later this year in Beirut and Dubai.
REDA International has a strong reputation for supplying production solutions to small and medium sized printers. With a team of qualified, experienced personnel in the prepress sector, the company specializes in the latest technologies in workflow and computer-to-plate solutions.
David Ventola, Presstek's General Manager -- Off Press said, "REDA International has an excellent track record in the small to medium print sector and the Dimension range fits extremely well with their product line up. This is an important step for Presstek to expand into new geographies and to grow our CTP business. The Middle East is a region with great potential. With our proven technology in chemistry-free systems, we offer the perfect answer to an increasing need for cleaner and more cost-effective production methods. Our products are designed to operate in a daylight environment and are durable enough to cope with the climatic conditions typical in this region."
Jim Cicci, President and General Manager of REDA International said, "We feel that by adding the Presstek Dimension range and chemistry-free consumables to our product portfolio we can offer added value to our existing and new customers. Having an extensive sales and service team already in place to serve this market, we are confident we can successfully implement our goals and objectives for the Presstek CTP range. Chemistry-free processing production offers an enormous advantage over other solutions, particularly in view of the extreme climate and high humidity in the Middle East. Presstek chemistry-free processing is proving to be the ideal solution to overcome these severe conditions without any problems."
"The design simplicity makes the Dimension range fundamentally reliable as well as keeping maintenance costs extremely low. There is no need for a processing unit; a simple water wash unit is sufficient. We now have the opportunity to offer our customers a very cost effective transition to a powerful CTP production line," added Jim Cicci.
REDA International will take full responsibility for the Dimension CTP range including installation, training, maintenance, service and support in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, Djibouti, Eritrea and Egypt.
