T/R Systems and Ricoh France Introduce MicroPressX Series Connectivity

ATLANTA, GA– July 30, 2003 – T/R SYSTEMS, INC., a leader in developing innovative solutions for the management and production of digital documents, and Ricoh France S.A, a division of Ricoh Company, Ltd,one of the world's leading suppliers of office automation equipment, announced today the availability in Europeof T/R Systems’ MicroPressX Series document production servers for use with additional high-volume Ricoh Aficioblack & white and color Digital Imaging Systems.   T/R Systems’ innovative MicroPress X Series is at the heart of Ricoh France’s print-on-demand (POD) solution.The MicroPress is a document production server for POD customers that bridges the gap between low-volume workgroup printing and high-volume centralized printing. By combining powerful document “make-ready” capabilities and advanced job management with advanced workflow tools and unique print device connectivity options, the MicroPress X Series provides customers with a scalable production printing system. The MicroPress X Series includes the MicroPress SX, DX and MX models, each of which addresses a different segment of the POD market from low- to high-volume. Among the latest Aficio digital imaging systems offered with the MicroPress X Series are the Aficio 1060 and 1075. The Aficio 1060 is a 60 page per minute printer/copier that offers 1200 dpi resolution. The Aficio 1075 printer/copier offers uninterrupted workflow and productivity at 75 pages per minute with a 1200 dpi resolution, and can be configured with an optional removable hard drive for protection of classified and confidential information. Both systems offer professional finishing capabilities including cover stock, tab extension copying, chapters, collating, numbering, stamping, saddle-stitching and hole punching, and both are ideal for the networked office, central reprographics department and POD environments.  In addition to the Aficio 1060/1075, the MicroPress X Series supports the widest breadth of Ricoh products targeted to the POD environment, including the Aficio 551, 700, 1085 and 1105 black and white Digital Imaging Systems, all of which offer outstanding production-level image quality, with superior document finishing capabilities, including two-and three-hole punching and multi-position stapling. Connectivity is also available for the Aficio Color3800 and 6513 Digital Imaging Systems.
