Nexpress Unveils Faststart: Education On Digital Color Printing

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A new series of programs developed by NexPress Solutions LLC is designed to help commercial print businesses take full advantage of the potential of digital color printing, the company announced today. The FastStart solutions programs extend the company’s strategic commitment to helping print providers offer higher-value applications that strengthen relationships and generate additional revenue, utilizing the NexPress 2100 digital production color press. This series of training sessions and consulting services will enable press operators, print designers and print buyers to gain additional skills and knowledge on topics such as variable data printing, Web-to-print fulfillment, database development and workflow productivity. "Print businesses worldwide are enjoying the benefits of the NexPress 2100 press –– a leader in uptime, reliability, consistency and image quality," said Chris Payne, chief marketing officer and vice president, NexPress Solutions LLC. "Our mission is now to help educate these businesses about how they can take advantage of digital color printing to deliver higher value and achieve greater success. These new programs provide NexPress 2100 users an efficient and productive means to do that." According to Payne, topics for the sessions are based on extensive NexPress 2100 press-user feedback. The first FastStart program available is focused on variable data printing. The FastStart VDP Solutions program is a two-day training that takes place on-site at the press user’s location and covers topics such as preparing and managing VDP projects, VDP workflows and database and mailing requirements. The FastStart VDP program is immediately available through Heidelberg to NexPress 2100 users in North America, with worldwide availability in the upcoming months. The NexPress 2100 press, which recently won the prestigious GATF 2002 InterTech technology award and the 2003 BERTL's Best award, is the graphic arts industry’s first true digital production color press –– producing outstanding image quality and consistency with every piece. The press was developed by NexPress, a joint venture of Eastman Kodak Company, a world leader in imaging and digital color technology, and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, a world leader in the development and manufacturing of modern printing solutions. It was created in 1998 to develop, manufacture and market digital production printing solutions and materials. The NexPress 2100 press is distributed and serviced around the world exclusively through Heidelberg.
