Muller Martini displays incredibly fast book sewing capability at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

(July 06, 2008) New "Motion Control" technology on the Ventura MC book sewing machine amazed visitors at Muller Martini's 2008 drupa booth in Düsseldorf, Germany. An oblong sized product with inserted signatures was thread sewn with excellent quality on the Ventura MC at 200 cycles per minute.

MC technology enables outstanding production speed
Muller's new motion control technology ensures reliable processing at the highest speeds. The signatures are positioned with servo control on the sewing saddle and can be precisely aligned. Together  with the split-design sewing saddle, high production speeds (even with multiple-up production) are achieved.

In addition to MC technology, the Ventura MC also has other highlights. The modular opening system offers a full range of opening variations, and the widest range of paper and signature types, with and without low folio lap, can be handled. Furthermore, our signature recognition system, ASIR 3, checks all signatures from the inside and ensures proper opening and optimal reliability.

Best product quality with air blast technique and thread heat sealing
The thread loop formation is aided by venture-controlled air and allows the choice between plain stitch, staggered stitch and combined staggered stitch through a simple change in the air direction. Depending on the product, spine build-up can be significantly minimized this way.  Book blocks retain their compact shape due to the heat-sealed loops, ensuring the highest quality book blocks.

Very convenient machine operation
The settings for the Ventura MC are configured via the menu-driven touchscreen. Even personnel without computer experience can easily operate the machine. The Ventura MC can store 1,000 different jobs.  With a USB connection, it is also possible to store and analyze data externally. And, production data can be exchanged between different Venturas over an optional Ethernet connection.

Muller Martini also offers an automatic stack infeed with buffer as an alternative to the ergonomically designed feeders. This allows the operator to work flexibly and efficiently, and gentle feeding is assured. What's more, the new door concept with its three-part sliding door assures easy access everywhere. There is also a choice of three available delivery variations: stacked, shingled, or standing.
