NAPLES, FL, -- PROOF-it-ONLINE, the leading provider of online approval/proofing solutions for the graphic arts industry, announces the release of FlashMark, PROOF-it-ONLINE's newest online proof review interface. This new interface is used in concert with the ubiquitous Macromedia Flash Player. The Flash Player enhanced technology of FlashMark provides a powerful set of viewing, mark-up and communication tools and assures reliability and rapid download speeds to anyone charged with approving images, documents, photos or other graphic intensive work.
"The FlashMark interface answers the need for no-hassle online proofing," said Robert Munz, President of PROOF-it-ONLINE. "Creative professionals post jobs online with the confidence that all clients can successfully access and easily review their jobs, request changes and grant their approval without leaving the familiar Internet Explorer or Netscape browser environment and with out the need for training."
It's Part of the Browser
Flash Player is installed in 98% of Web browsers and over 502 million people can view Flash applications. (Source: Macromedia) The ubiquitous nature of the Flash Player enables PROOF-it-ONLINE's new proof viewer to be a non-intrusive solution which requires no viewing software downloads.
Permissions are natively granted
Unlike Java Applets that present download warning and alert boxes, FlashMark's permissions are natively granted allowing users to interact with a proof and even print without unnecessary steps.
Flash content downloads fast. The FlashMark application is an extremely small application at only 84K. Competing applications exceed 2.5 MB.
As a vector-based technology, FlashMark allows for viewing at various resolutions with unmatched zooming capabilities. Zero text degradation and no artifacts are present even at 1000 percent zoom.
FlashMark provides the ability to print a proof with or without mark-ups.
Apart from the migration to the new Flash platform, the new viewer can be fully customized to reflect the creative professionals brand.
The improved viewing tools make navigating the proof much easier. A Thumbnail Drag 'n Drop feature allows reviewers to select an image to view by dragging the thumbnail of the page into the review panel. The Proof Navigator guides the reviewer to quickly view different areas.
The mark-up tools in the Viewer are smooth and intuitive. Using the Text Tool, the reviewer can type comments directly on the image. The addition of the note tool allows for longer text annotations to be posted on the image. Drawing Tools such as the arrow, circle and freehand pen flow smoothly and their behavior emulates the experience users would have with pen in hand.
How Does It Work?
A creative professional who has a member account with PROOF-it-ONLINE uploads jobs to their Workspace. This triggers automatic e-mail notification to the reviewer or client that a proof is available for review. The reviewer accesses the proof through the creative's website by entering a unique proof number and password. The proof is displayed in the FlashMark viewer without leaving the reviewer's browser. The reviewer proceeds to viewing and annotating the proof, adds a status such as Approved With Changes and chooses to return the review to the creative quickly completing the approval process. The creative professional is immediately notified by e-mail when a job status has changed. An option exists for the reviewer to forward to colleagues to have additional reviewers share their comments. The number of reviewers is unlimited.
"The new technology was driven by the demand on the reviewer side," Munz said. "Clients of printers, advertising agencies, publishers and other creatives like the idea of approving jobs online. However, their reluctance to download and add software to their computers was evident. FlashMark delivers the value without the hassles. The new Viewer provides reviewers with a positive interactive experience, one they'll be willing to repeat."
PROOF-it-ONLINE's approval solutions are hosted applications and are offered on a subscription basis. The monthly fee is determined by the number of Approval Sessions required in a month. Approval packages start at $44.95 per month.
