July 7, 2003 -- Kari Knuts has been appointed Senior Vice President, Research, Development and Technology, Paper Product Area as of 1 September 2003. He will be based in Stora Enso's Helsinki Head Office, and report to Kai Korhonen, Senior Executive Vice President, head of the Paper Product Area. Mr Knuts, 47, is currently Senior Vice President, Strategy, Investment and Business Development, Publication Paper. He joined the Company in 1990. Juha Vanhainen has been appointed Senior Vice President, Office Papers in the Stora Enso Fine Paper Division as of 1 September 2003. He will be based in London, and report to Jussi Huttunen, Senior Executive Vice President, head of the Fine Paper Division. Mr Vanhainen, 42, is currently Mill Director of the Oulu Mill. He joined the Company in 1990. Sakari Eloranta has been appointed Senior Vice President, Pulp Competence Centre as of 1 August 2003. He will be based in Imatra, and report to Arno Pelkonen, Senior Executive Vice President, Forest Products Product Area. Mr Eloranta, 43, is currently Production Manager at the Kaukopää Pulp Mill. He joined the Company in 1987.
