Sandy Alexander Receives ISO 9001:2000 Registration

Press release from the issuing company

Clifton, NJ  -  Sandy Alexander, Inc., the country's largest independent high-quality commercial printing company, announced today that it has received ISO 9001:2000 certification, a renewal of its original ISO 9002 registration which was received in 1997.  This achievement is in addition to its previously attained ISO 14001 certification and continues to make Sandy Alexander one of the only commercial printing companies in the U.S. to have attained both ISO certifications. According to Roy Grossman, President and CEO, "This is the third milestone we have reached since we first made the commitment to becoming an ISO certified business.  We achieved ISO 9002 certification in March, 1997, followed by ISO 14001 (the environmental standard) last year, and now the ISO 9001:2000 standard.  This on-going commitment to developing, maintaining and executing a high level quality management system is an integral part of our success." The most significant changes from the ISO 9002 standard to the ISO 9001:2000 standard are the commitment to continuous improvement and focus on customer satisfaction. Grossman adds, "While continuous improvement was not specifically identified as a criteria of the previous ISO standard, it has always been a critical element of how we operate.  The exercise of documenting this process has helped us ensure that all segments of the business have a common goal of building upon past successes.  Additionally, while we didn't necessarily need ISO to tell us that customer satisfaction is the key to growth, the discipline we've introduced has resulted in very noticeable improvements in the level of customer satisfaction."
