Bruce James to Keynote Luncheon at Executive Outlook Conference

Press release from the issuing company

June 26, 2003 -- Reston, VA – Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) announced today that Bruce James, the U.S. Public Printer and head of the Government Printing Office (GPO) will be the luncheon keynote speaker at the upcoming EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK Conference, held September 27 in McCormick Place South, Chicago, Illinois before the opening of GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO, held September 28 – October 1, 2003. “EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK has earned a reputation as an attraction for top speaker talent in our industry, and as a forum for accurate forecasting of the success of emerging trends in management and technology, due in part to the focused nature of the top communications executives in the audience,” noted William C. Lamparter, president of PrintCom Consulting Group, and conference chairman. “The addition of the U.S. Public Printer, Bruce James, not only reinforces that reputation, but indicates the dedication and closely directed management style that Mr. James will bring to the position at GPO in the coming months,” he added. United States Public Printer Bruce James will share with the conference audience his vision for the Government Printing Office (GPO) and how the implication of new and emerging technologies for document collection, processing and distribution will impact government printing procurement, commercial printers and industry suppliers. Now under Public Printer Bruce James, the GPO is taking a giant step forward by allowing private printers to deal directly with government agencies. Those agencies will no longer be bound to accept low bid but can consider all the factors leading to the best value for taxpayers. This is an excellent opportunity for an early preview of how the new procurement system will be rolled out government-wide in the fall of 2004. “We are pleased to have EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK Conference selected as the forum for this announcement from Mr. James,” said Regis J. Delmontagne, President of GASC, who produces and manages the conference and GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO. “His presentation will address a long-standing need for direct access to government print buyers by top printers nationwide, while still guaranteeing quality control and support from a central entity. The changes he’s proposing from top to bottom of GPO will open new opportunities for printers and manufacturers alike in the coming years,” he added. EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK Conference will focus on emerging technologies and their impact on today’s high-demand, high-efficiency print production environment. Topics this year include wide format ink jet output as a profit opportunity, adding mailing and fulfillment to the printer’s capability scheme, and a review of available and emerging digital technologies and their impact on today’s print market. Registration for EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK includes a continental breakfast, lunch, extensive handout materials and admission to GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO. EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK is also included in a Full Conference package for the GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO 2003 educational program, which entitles the registrant to attend any of GRAPH EXPO and CONVERTING EXPO’s sixty-plus seminars and selected other special events.
