Press release from the issuing company
SAN FRANCISCO--June 5, 2003-- FinePrint Software, LLC announces today the launch of FinePrint 5, the first major upgrade to FinePrint in three years.
FinePrint is a Windows printing tool used by individuals and corporations around the world to increase printing effectiveness and efficiency.
FinePrint 5 has been dramatically revamped to increase its capabilities as an enterprise solution, and includes:
improved capabilities for printing content on electronic versions of letterhead, eliminating the need for pre-printed forms and letterhead by expanding the range of applications that can use this feature, including Microsoft Word and its mail-merge function (FinePrint 5 is the only product available for printer vendor independent forms with complete application compatibility);
the ability to install and update settings, forms, and other configuration data from a centralized server, easing the IT burden and increasing effectiveness for end users;
support for all Microsoft Windows platforms for both client and server as well as Terminal Server/Citrix MetaFrame;
compatibility with printers that provide finishing capabilities such as folding and stapling.
In addition to enhanced enterprise capabilities, FinePrint 5 incorporates a number of new features aimed at its large base of individual users, including:
enhanced booklet-making capabilities, allowing the creation of sub-booklets for larger documents;
improved ink and paper saving characteristics, allowing users to remove graphics and unwanted pages from the FinePrint preview with a single click;
adjustable gutters and improved double-sided printing and user interface.
"Both enterprise users and individuals will benefit from the enhancements built into FinePrint 5," says Jonathan Weiner, CEO of FinePrint Software. "From people who simply want to throw away less paper to large companies who want to improve printing efficiency and reduce costs, FinePrint 5 is an application in which all users can actually see how quickly it pays for itself."
