Visual Systems Obtains Four Industry Awards

MILWAUKEE – Visual Systems, Inc., a leading manufacturer of book components, overhead transparencies and ancillary products for educational publishers, was presented four awards in the FiberMark Specifier competition, which acknowledges excellence in a wide variety of finished printed pieces. The award-winning entries were recognized based on a variety of criteria, including outstanding overall appearance, printing quality, design and use of color. The entries can be viewed online at http://www.visualsystemsinc.com/news_happenings/awards.html. “In a world where people judge a book by its cover, Visual Systems always strives to create distinctive printed pieces for its customers,” said Jeff Burg, marketing manager for Visual Systems, Inc. “These awards represent our success in providing high-quality pieces that draw attention.” Visual Systems was acknowledged with the prestigious FiberMark Specifier awards for the following entries: “Best of Category – El-Hi Publishing” (First Place): • Decisions for Health Textbook Cover – Blue Level: An embossed textbook cover featuring a distinctive design through its considerable amount of white space. The cover also includes children as well as a blue footer. “Certificate of Recognition – Design/Use of Kivar 2, Natural Color” (Second Place): • Hexachrome Print Series: A poster series produced applying the Hexachrome printing process. The posters depict unique colors and highly detailed designs. • Exploring Painting Textbook Cover: A vivid, vibrant-colored textbook cover that features six colors as a result of utilizing the Hexachrome printing process. “Honorable Mention – Design/Use of Kivar 2” (Third Place): • Experience Clay Textbook Cover: A textbook cover consisting of rich colors and life-like imagery. The cover was printed utilizing the Hexachrome printing process. “It’s rewarding to see Visual Systems’ hard work pay off and result in numerous award wins,” added Burg. “Our entries competed against many other good entries, and we’re honored to be presented with these awards.” To submit an entry in the FiberMark Specifier Awards competition, the product must be manufactured during the previous calendar year. The entries must also consist of FiberMark materials, such as Hyflex, Kivar, Lexotone, Pajco, Skivertex and Corvon.
