Latran Logo Cited For Outstanding Graphic Design

Press release from the issuing company

BEDFORD, MA, June 3, 2003 – The new corporate logo of Latran Technologies, one of the industry's leaders in advanced digital halftone proofing systems, has been cited as an outstanding example of logo design in the American Corporate Identity/19 competition. The Latran logo was selected from among 4,000 entries submitted to the competition which has become a highly regarded showcase for the best work in American identity graphics. The Latran Technologies logo will be featured in the prestigious 320-page American Corporate Design/19 design annual published and distributed worldwide to more than 40 countries by Harper Design International, an imprint of HarperCollins,. Latran Technologies' unique new corporate name and distinctive logo design were developed for the company by Broadford & Maloney, Incorporated of Greenwich, Connecticut, the public relations and advertising agency for Latran Technologies LLC since the inception of the enterprise more than a decade ago. American Corporate Identity is the only annual national competition devoted specifically to the field of corporate identity. The 18 previous competitions have provided a highly respected showcase for the best corporate identity in use today. The company's corporate name "Latran" (pronounced Lay-tran) and the corporate logo are derived from the words "Laser Ablation Transfer," the advanced patented technology employed in the company's digital halftone proofing systems to transfer pigmented printing inks by directly imaging or transferring to actual printing stocks. Broadford & Maloney designed the Latran Technologies logo to symbolically represent the Laser Ablation Transfer process. The logo design elements portray an ink color sheet juxtaposed over an underlying sheet of printing stock onto which a digital image is transferred. Both are positioned against a disk-shaped background symbolizing the real halftone dots that are accurately reproduced by all of Latran Technologies' advanced digital halftone proofing systems.
