Creo Ships Preps 4.2 Qualified For Brisque

Press release from the issuing company

BOSTON -- June 2, 2003 -- Creo is now shipping Preps 4.2 software qualified for the Brisque workflow management system, versions 4.0 and 4.1. The combination of Preps, the leading digital imposition tool worldwide, and Brisque's powerful workflow options, makes it the most reliable production workflow available today. New features and enhancements to Brisque workflow functionality in the Preps 4.2 release include: -- Ability to add Brisque jobs to the Preps file list and run list using drag and drop; -- Ability to add multiple Brisque jobs at once; -- Automatic determination of page count; -- Advanced page type options for reader spreads; -- Set up a Brisque job placeholder automatically using PostScript and PDF files; -- Configure options for entire Brisque jobs or individual pages; -- New Brisque preferences dialog box; -- Supports Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar (Preps runs in Classic mode). "The Brisque workflow enhancements in Preps 4.2 are fantastic. A 600-page job that used to take 30-minutes to assemble, takes less than a minute using the new Run List drag-and-drop feature in Preps 4.2," says Robert Lisi, digital prepress technician at Transcontinental O'Keefe in Montreal, Canada. "Everything about using Preps in a Brisque workflow is easier and more intuitive in the 4.2 release." Preps and JDF... Preps 4.2, which continues to develop JDF (Job Definition Format) capabilities, is also qualified for Prinergy Connect 2.1.0.14 or later in both PJTF and JDF workflows, and Prinergy Direct 2.1.0.14 or later in PostScript and PDF imposed flats workflow. By supporting this XML-based file format that describes the entire print production cycle, Preps software continues to support and enhance Networked Graphic Production. This Creo initiative links creative, production, and business systems to streamline print production and better serve everyone involved in the print process. Preps 4.2 also supports the latest versions of Creo PS/M workflow, QuarkXPress, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, and Macromedia FreeHand software. Availability... Preps 4.2 is a free upgrade for all Preps 4.x users and is available from www.creo.com/preps. Click on Downloads.
