Australian Firm selects Printcafe's Logic SQL Print Management System

Press release from the issuing company

PITTSBURGH, PA, (June 2nd, 2003) - Printcafe Software, Inc., the operating system for print(TM), today announced that DPA Document Printing Australia Pty Ltd, in Port Melbourne, has signed an agreement to license the Printcafe Logic SQL print management system. DPA joins a growing number of Australia's leading printing companies, from commercial and publication printers to printshops, who have implemented Printcafe software solutions, including PMP Limited, Offset Alpine Printing and nearly 100 Kwik Kopy locations. Starting life in 1987 as a quick printer, DPA diversified its offerings with the growth of the Internet and digital technology and embarked into the print on demand business. DPA is now Australia's second largest digital printer with a strong offset printing division and provides a complete marketing communication service to corporate clients from concept design to finished distribution. "We were really impressed with the functionality of the Printcafe Logic SQL management system and how it connects all the functions of the printing business," said Claude Lucchesi, managing director of DPA. "Dealing with large corporate clients, we need to respond quickly to their needs. The Logic system will enable us to service our customers even better by giving us the tools to improve our internal workflow, produce quicker estimates and ultimately improve the speed of job turnaround as the orders automatically flow into the production stream. It is an excellent management tool that will give us a competitive edge in the marketplace." "We are pleased to welcome DPA as the newest Printcafe Logic customer in Australia," said Jeffrey White, director of international sales at Printcafe. "Logic SQL is an extremely flexible, robust system which will enable DPA to achieve manufacturing efficiencies and a distinct competitive advantage." "The Printcafe Logic system gives us a microscope to view our business where we can easily and immediately access the information we need to maximise opportunities for future growth," commented Mr Luchessi. Printcafe Logic is a business management system customized for the printing industry with tools to automate every step of the workflow, including two estimating packages, order entry, scheduling, customized job tickets, purchasing, inventory control, job tracking, shipping and billing. Add-on modules, such as Printcafe's Auto-Count(R) direct machine interface tools, enable true computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) extending the information network throughout the organization, from the sales force to the shop floor.
