Press release from the issuing company
PARAMUS, N.J., May 29, 2003 — The Research & Engineering Council of the National Association for Printing Leadership is calling for nominations for its 2nd annual Pressroom Operations Manager of the Year award, with a submission deadline of October 10. The award recognizes an individual who personifies the principles of leadership in pressroom management and has a proven record of providing outstanding service for customers and creating value for his or her company. Candidates should exhibit leadership in various facets of pressroom management, including new technology implementation, production staff leadership, continuous improvement in manufacturing, and the promotion of production education and training. The inaugural award was presented in 2002 to David Knoff, vice president of Manufacturing for Arandell Corporation, Menomonee Falls, Wis.
“This award was created to honor those who excel in the challenging arena of printing plant operations,” said Ron Mihills, managing director of the R&E Council of NAPL. “It is not meant for company presidents and owners, but for those individuals who are integrally involved in their companies’ production activities, including, but not limited to, pressroom managers, plant managers, or plant engineers.”
Nominations for the 2003 R&E Council Pressroom Operations Manager of the Year award may be submitted by co-workers, company owners, suppliers, or industry colleagues. In addition to a completed application form, letters of recommendation and support of the nomination are welcome.
Nomination forms may be obtained by going online to www.recouncil.org/events/POM_Nom_2003.pdf. Completed forms must be received by the R&E Council of NAPL (by mail or fax) on or before October 10, 2003.
