Associated Mediabase orders its 30th :Polaris CtP from Agfa

Press release from the issuing company

Mortsel, Belgium, 27 May 2003 – Agfa announced today that Associated Mediabase Ltd. purchased its 30th :Polaris CtP Platesetter at NewsTec 2003. The committment to buy 30 units over three years was made at Drupa 2000, following extensive due dilligence by Associated Mediabase. Allan Marshall, Managing Director of Associated Mediabase Ltd., who placed the order for unit number 30, was so impressed with the performance of the :Polaris that he intends to buy more units and expand the business partnership with Agfa. “The :Polaris has fulfilled our expectations and has proven to be an excellent investment. It has allowed us to extend on previous efforts and truly approach an all-digital process. We have seen a marked improvement in efficiency and an increase in asset utilisation,” Marshall stated. “As a result of the success realised in the program, we intend to exceed the 30 units and to broaden our relationship with Agfa, which has grown stronger over the years,” Marshall added. As a direct result of the total CtP program success, Associated Mediabase and Agfa have decided to work on strategic initiatives to better manage the entire CtP process. The joint efforts are intended to further increase efficiency and productivity. “That Associated Mediabase chose Agfa demonstrates the strength of not only our business relationships but of the Agfa line of products,” said Agfa’s Laurence Roberts, Graphics Business Group Director for the UK. “Meeting the requirements of newspaper publishers of any size is always a challenge. It is particularly satisfying to have been so successful from the beginning and that the partnership with Associated Mediabase has not only prospered but grown strongly.”
