PrintXcel Awarded For Its Safety Record

Englewood,CO- PrintXcel receives top awards for its superior safety records in both its documents and labels divisions. PXGraphix theToledodocuments plant and Lancer Label theOmahalabel plant received these awards for their 2002 safety performance. At both PXGraphix and Lancer Label, the safety success was due to the employees’ commitment to safety, the plant’s safety committee’s involvement in providing a safe work environment, and the management’s emphasis in safety.  PrintXcel’sOmahaplant’s OSHA recordable incident rate was .86 compared to 3.51 for 2001. This was a 75% improvement year-to-year. PrintXcel’sToledoplant’s OSHA recordable incident rate was 1.76 compared to 8.29 for 2001. This was a 79% improvement year-to-year. Both PrintXcel plants had 0 days away due to an injury.  Kevin Lombardo, President and CEO for PrintXcel presented these awards at Mail-Well’s Leadership Conference in mid February in Carefree,Arizona. “PrintXcel will continue to demonstrate its commitment to providing a safe workplace for its employees by meeting or exceeding safety standards,” said Kevin Lombardo. “Safety is considered an integral part of our daily operations and we will continue to ensure that our employees have the training and equipment to perform their work safely.” PrintXcelhas started 2003 with an excellent safety record. Five plants have not reported a OSHA recordable incident and there has only been two days away from work due to an injury. PrintXcel’s goal is to end the year with an incident rate of 3.5 compared to the industry average of 5.53.
