Delphax Selects Dot Hill SANnet for High Speed Printing Solution

Press release from the issuing company

CARLSBAD, Calif., May 15 -- Dot Hill announced today that its SANnet II storage systems have been selected by Delphax Technologies Inc. for its CR Series of continuous-feed digital printing solutions. SANnet II is being integrated into the CR series to spool data coming from the server to the printer. Delphax resells its turnkey digital printing solutions to commercial and in-plant printers, direct mailers, bill and statement printers and service bureaus. The Delphax CR series continuous-feed printing solutions produce up to 1,300 pages per minute at a print resolution of 600 x 600 dots per inch and are the world's fastest digital presses in their class. The CR series printers are very well suited for producing short run paperback books, forms, booklets, newsletters, pamphlets, or manuals. These systems have their origins in the industrial printing industry -- where volume and high throughput are critical success factors. Their rugged reliability makes them the ideal solution for today's busiest print environments. Ken Hurley, manager of engineering for Delphax said, "SANnet was selected due to its excellent performance and reliability. Printing is by nature a deadline driven business, and downtime is not an option. We were also impressed by the service and support provided by Dot Hill." The SANnet II family of storage systems provides industry-leading 99.9998+ percent uptime in a compact, rugged enclosure. SANnet II brings enterprise class features into the workgroup and virtually eliminates downtime with no single points of failure. The common modular architecture of the SANnet II product family provides seamless scalability for future growth. All SANnet II products feature hot-swappable, field-replaceable components including drives, controllers, power supplies, fans and event monitoring units. This product line meets MIL-STD-810F standards for the U.S. Department of Defense and is certified to the telecommunications industry NEBS Level 3 standard. "SANnet is a great fit for Delphax because of its proven reliability and its certified ruggedness in environmental conditions such as those one would expect to see in a print shop," said Omar Barraza, Dot Hill's director of product management. "Operating on a factory floor is quite a bit different than in the "glass house" of the data center. Dot Hill has a long and successful track record of providing rugged, reliable storage systems for extreme environments."
