Fusion Systems Announces Mac OS X Version Of ROOM Workflow
Press release from the issuing company
Portland, OR—April 30, 2003—Fusion Systems International, the leading independent developer and integrator of Unix Raster Image Processing solutions, today announced it will be releasing its RIP product line and advanced DigiPage ROOM workflow solution on Apple Computer’s Mac OS
X.
These product additions combine Fusion Systems International’s new RIP technologies (based on Harlequin RIP Eclipse technologies)—including the new TrapPro automated raster object based in-line trapping solution—with Apple Computer’s new operating system.
"Fusion Systems International has been shipping robust, server-centric Unix RIP solutions for over six years,""comments Logan Herbert, Fusion Systems International’s Director of Business Development. "We look forward to providing our powerful Unix technologies to a broader graphic arts market by making them available on the widely popular Mac OS X platform."
Based on open industry standards DigiPage can produce plate-ready files, complete with dot-for-dot color composite proofing files, that are compatible with the most popular imagesetters, CTP devices, and digital proofers on the market. DigiPage can enhance existing imaging equipment investments, as well as future ones, by providing an incredibly fast solution with absolute digital integrity between soft proofing, hard proofing, and the final printed work.
DigiPage is an easy-to-use, yet sophisticated, ROOM workflow that identifies file problems far in advance of making film or final plates. It is an ideal solution that provides early detection of hidden problems commonly not detected in PDF and PDF/X-1A files until a press proof is made.
"This makes it easy for any size pre-press environment to implement a powerful, unified, ROOM solution to boost productivity of existing imaging hardware while providing a comprehensive workflow for transitioning to CTP." Fusion Systems International will continue to offer extremely scalable solutions on SGI IRIX and Sun Solaris as well.
This initial release of DigiPage on Mac OS X will include extensive support for PDF 1.4, including Transparency layers, PDF/X-1A, PDF/X-3 and JBIG2. Also included will be a wide range of layered options such as the TrapPro in-RIP trapping solution, TIFF/IT-P1 file processing and file generation, ColorPro advanced color management, CIP3 data export support, and a full selection of proofing drivers.
