Press release from the issuing company

Paramus, N.J., April 28, 2003 – David C. Branch, president of Branch-Smith Printing Ltd., Fort Worth, Texas, has been named recipient of the 2003 Sheetfed Executive of the Year Award by the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) / Printing Industries of America (PIA). Created to honor a sheetfed industry leader who has demonstrated exceptional service, initiative, and commitment to his or her community, company, and the sheetfed printing industry, the award will be presented to Branch, its ninth recipient, at a special luncheon held on Tuesday, June 3, as part of the annual GATF/PIA•NAPL Sheetfed Pressroom Conference in Chicago. “I believe no one in the industry deserves this honor more than David,” said Fred Herbert, quality manager at Branch-Smith Printing, who nominated Branch for the award. “His leadership and dedication to continuous improvement was the driving force behind Branch-Smith Printing’s receiving the nation’s highest business honor this year—the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.” Prior to Branch-Smith Printing receiving the 2002 Malcolm Baldrige Award, the company received a Texas Quality Award in 1999.
