Enhanced Coated Papers From Xerox Optimize Digital Color Print Quality
Press release from the issuing company
NEW YORK, N.Y., April 7, 2003 -- Xerox Corporation today introduced its enhanced Xerox Digital Color Gloss and Xerox Digital Color Silk paper product families, gloss and silk coated papers that ensure superior toner adhesion as well as optimal image quality and reliability in digital color printing processes. Xerox Digital Color Gloss and Digital Color Silk papers, the third generation of gloss and silk media from Xerox, were developed in conjunction with the Xerox Media Technology Center (MTC) to ensure optimal performance with the newest digital printing technologies and products, including the Xerox DocuColor iGen3 Digital Production Press and the full family of Xerox DocuColor printers. The Xerox MTC provides specialty media product development as well as core research in image quality and permanence and machine / media interactions.
The enhanced Digital Color Gloss and Silk text and cover papers are ideal for both production and short run applications, including presentations, reports, direct mailers, newsletters and training materials, as well as a full range of variable printing applications. The products are particularly well suited to tasks in which superior toner adhesion is critical, such as those that require heavy solid print areas and folded pieces such as brochures and flyers.
"The introduction of our enhanced line of coated papers is another example of Xerox's ongoing commitment to ensuring that our media improves along with our digital printing technology. These products enable the broadest variety of digital print applications," said Stephen F. Galloway, vice president and general manager, Xerox Supplies North America.
Xerox Digital Color Gloss and Silk text and cover papers are 92 bright premium sheets and have a new global Xerox-exclusive coating formulation that provides a blue-white shade, greater brightness, outstanding color contrast and cleaner looking images. The papers' high opacity and smooth surfaces enable high-quality two-sided printing, with extensive color coverage and no "show- through". The products also have a low running odor and improved finishing capabilities.
The Xerox Digital Color Gloss and Silk product families are available in a full range of weights (from 80-lb. text to 100-lb. cover) and sizes (8.5" x 11" to 20.5" x 14.33"). The products offer matching text and cover weights, allowing print production managers to select one product family - with identical shade and quality - and expand their application range.
Xerox Digital Color Gloss and Silk papers are backed by the Xerox Total Satisfaction Guarantee. Both product families are elemental chlorine free, making them an environmentally responsible choice. The products are now available in the United States. To order, call Xerox Supplies at 800-822-2200, visit www.xerox.com/supplies, or contact a Xerox authorized reseller.
