A typical 24-bit color document scanned at 300 DPI yields 24MB of raw data. Using industry standard JPEG compression, file sizes can be reduced to 1.2 MB, but the text is fuzzy. Using eCopy's new Xpert Compression Technology, files sizes are around 140KB with sharp text and smooth colors. Developed by eCopy, Xpert Compression Technology analyzes a document and identifies the content. It then applies the most appropriate compression technology for that type of information, resulting in the best possible reproduction of the original, either printed or on-screen.
