Press release from the issuing company
NEW YORK, April 7, 2003 -- Delphax Technologies Inc., a global provider of high-speed digital printing and publishing systems, is demonstrating its powerful, ultra high-speed continuous-feed and high-performance cut-sheet digital press solutions during the On Demand Printing and Publishing Expo - Booth #3335 - in New York's Javits Convention Center.
Live demonstrations of the spectacular Delphax CR1300 continuous-feed digital printing system, capable of producing an industry leading 1,300 (8- 1/2" x 11") pages per minute throughput at 600 x 600 dpi, are being conducted throughout the three-day expo. The company also is demonstrating the Imaggia II, the industry's fastest and largest media format digital cut-sheet press.
The CR1300 and all of the other extremely versatile digital printing systems in the Delphax CR Series are capable of handling a wide spectrum of substrates, ranging from ultra-lightweight paper to heavy stocks. That substrate flexibility is highly important to publishers and direct mailers that want systems capable of handling a wide range of potential jobs.
The CR1300 system will be running from roll stock to delivery of fully bound books at a constant throughput speed of 300 feet per minute, producing a complete, large format, book every 10 seconds. Books produced during the Delphax demonstrations are being donated to the New York Public School System for student use. To donate a book in your name you can still log on to www.delphax.com/booksforschools and type "freebooks" in the Promo Code field.
The Delphax Imaggia II cut-sheet press is being demonstrated with two direct mail applications, a postcard and a coupon book. The Imaggia II provides excellent print quality at a full 600 x 600dpi with its unique offset printing process. It produces up to 300 (8-1/2" x 11") pages per minute, and handles a wide range of paper weights, sizes and finishes.
Integrated with the Unify Delphax HV Print Server, both the Delphax CR Series and Imaggia II digital printing systems offer publishers and direct marketers dynamic, user-friendly solutions for their high-volume PostScript, PDF and PCL printing requirements.
"The CR1300 and the Imaggia II offer new, highly productive solution options for on demand production in publishing and direct marketing," noted Delphax's vice president of marketing and sales, Kevin Mitchell. "With their exceptional speed, flexibility and quality, our continuous-feed and cut-sheet presses offer new pathways to increased revenues and improved margins. They open opportunities for significant productivity gains, and the development of new applications and new markets."
