Press release from the issuing company

HOUSTON, Tex. (April 2, 2003) - COPI (Computer Output Print & Internet), a global provider of technology solutions to the high volume computer output industry, and Crawford Technologies Inc., an industry leading provider of print-stream processing software, today announced a collaborative marketing alliance. This alliance provides clients of both firms access to best of breed technology for end-to-end output solutions. Under the alliance, both firms will work closely to provide comprehensive and dynamic print-stream manipulation, transformation and output solutions. Crawford's clients will have direct access to COPI's XML, PDF, font and barcode subroutine technologies. COPI will introduce Crawford's state of the art legacy datastreams transforms to its clients. Crawford's state of the art transforms for legacy datastreams matched with COPI's output manipulation expertise will enable more users to harness the power of XML across a broader range of legacy output applications. "We have brought together the expertise of two icons in the print-stream processing industry," said Andy Plata, President of COPI. "By integrating Crawford's world-class software with COPI's GenX Software Suite, users will be able to more effectively prepare output with minimal impact on their legacy applications for delivery across multiple channels via print or the web. " Ernie Crawford, President of Crawford Technologies Inc., said, "This agreement puts CrawfordTech together with Bill McDaniel and Andy Plata, and their visionary team of industry veterans. It is another step in our strategy of partnering with the Best-Of-Breed companies. This brings us the best XML and bar code expertise and technology in the market to combine with our print-stream management software in order to offer customers incredible solutions." Under the terms of the agreement, COPI and Crawford will sell each company's software products and solutions under non-exclusive Distribution and Re-seller Agreements. The agreement further allows COPI to incorporate and integrate all of Crawford's PRO suite of enhancement, manipulation and transformation print-stream products within their own product offerings. COPI will be able to quickly expand into areas where the need for print-stream processing to/from AFP, METACODE, PDF, PS, and PCL are required. Likewise, Crawford will be able to include all of COPI's products, such as PDF, XML/HTML and DataMatrix subroutine offerings as part of their integrated solutions. This integration of the two company's product offerings will increase their dominance in all output delivery market segments. COPI's Chief Technology Officer, Bill McDaniel, said, "Crawford Technology's excellent line of transform products will perfectly complement COPI's new line of GenX XML-based presentation products. In addition, we see significant synergies with the COPI CodeZ line of 2D barcode subroutines."
