IKON Office Solutions Named To Training Magazine Top 100
Press release from the issuing company
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania —March 13, 2003— IKON Office Solutions, the largest independent distributor of document management products and services in the U.S. with operations throughout North America and Europe, today announced that it has been named #51 in Training magazine’s Top 100 list for 2003. The Training Top 100 is a ranking of organizations that excel at human capital development based on the publication’s in-depth analysis and assessment.
“We realize that our people and their knowledge are IKON’s greatest competitive advantage and we’re pleased that our training and development program has been recognized,” said Matthew Espe, IKON’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Investing in training for all areas of our business—from consultative sales to technical service, professional services and customer care—is key to providing world-class service and applying our expertise to help customers leverage their technology investments.”
In determining this year’s ranking, the Training editorial staff analyzed both qualitative and quantitative characteristics including the strategic link between training and business goals/objectives, best practices in training and development, the use of training to align internal culture with external goals, and the number of hours of formal training received annually by employees.
“IKON was a first time applicant in this tough competition, and since establishing IKON University just over three years ago, we’re proud to be selected as one of the best by Training magazine,” said Beth Sexton, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for IKON. “IKON's investments in human capital will continue to reflect our commitment to attracting, motivating, developing and retaining the best people in order to position IKON as the employer of choice within the industry. Our center of learning excellence offers all employees the opportunity to constantly increase their knowledge and sharpen their skills.”
