DuPont CromaPro XP Provides Color Proofs For Drop-on-Demand Inkjet Printers
Press release from the issuing company
Toronto, Ont., March 7, 2003 - DuPont Imaging Technologies and Unisource Canada, Inc. are announcing the Canadian launch of the DuPont CromaPro XP Inkjet Color Proofing System, a high-end colour management and RIP solution for drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet printers.
“CromaPro XP was created to serve customers asking for a professional level digital proofing system, only at a lower cost,” says Wendy Andrushko, Business Manager for DuPont Canada Imaging Technologies. For less than one-quarter the cost of traditional systems, CromaPro XP is a viable solution for high volume output printers, trade shops, designers and agencies.
Building on the long history of DuPont in colour science and proofing knowledge, CromaPro XP incorporates DuPont CromaNet colour management and profiling software with a genuine Adobe® PostScript® 3 RIP, drivers for the leading desktop and wide-format printers from Hewlett Packard and Epson, and a new line of cross platform proofing media. The new CromaPro XP media offers true flexibility and compatibility between inkjet printers using either dye or pigment-based ink sets.
CromaPro XP utilizes International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles, has the ability to create new ones, and actually adds an extra stage that goes beyond ICC colour management. While many standard ICC products rely on different software for profiling and colour management, CromaPro XP integrates both processes within the same workflow -- producing reliable results.
CromaPro XP is distributed in Canada exclusively by Unisource Canada, Inc. “We are very excited to represent DuPont’s CromaPro XP InkJet Color Proofing System. DuPont has done an excellent job integrating the key components - engine, RIP, ink and media - to create an inkjet digital colour proofing system that is superior to anything like it in the market,” says Janet Carmichael, National Marketing Manager for Unisource Canada, Inc. DuPont values Unisource for their long-standing reputation and far-reaching presence in Canada that provides DuPont the access to offer this new technology to the widest number of end users possible.
DuPont Imaging Technologies is the world’s largest supplier of colour proofing products, offering the widest variety and most precise digital, analog and imposition proofing systems for use throughout the workflow.
