Best Donates SWOP Certified Color Proofing Software To GATF

Press release from the issuing company

West Chester, OH, March 2002- Best, a division of Electronics for Imaging, the world leader in imaging solutions for network printing, has donated Best Screenproof, its powerful halftone proofing software, to GATF. The contribution was made in conjunction with EPSON America, which provided its EPSON Stylus Pro 7600 wide format color printer to GATF. Announcing the donation, Mark Geeves, Best USA general manager, commented: “Best software, when used with the EPSON Stylus Pro 7600 printer, enables printers to create halftone proofs which not only accurately represent the final printed product, but meet SWOP certification standards. Best Screenproof enables printers to provide their customers with proofs created from the same files that generate plates for the press. Best is pleased to present the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation with the opportunity to experience this powerful product, and to enable GATF trainers to demonstrate the latest in proofing concepts to GATF members.” In addition to the Best Screenproof software, Best is providing GATF staff members with comprehensive color training at Best Academy, the company training facility in West Chester, Ohio. John T. Lind, GATF director of research, in accepting the donation, said: “GATF is excited to have a SWOP certified inkjet proofer on the floor. We are actively training printer personnel with the donation, and use the machine and software to supply large format press test forms to GATF consultants.”
