Fujifilm Promotes Vanderlaan and Schroeder to Group Managers
Press release from the issuing company
March 10, 2003 - The Graphic Systems Division of Fujifilm has announced the promotions of Don Schroeder and Peter Vanderlaan to group managers. Schroeder’s new title will be group manager, color products. He will oversee all of Fujifilm’s color proofing products, including scanning and color management products. Vanderlaan will take over as group manager, E.I. output products. He will manage the company’s electronic imaging products, including both software and hardware.
In his 12 years with Fujifilm’s Graphic Systems Division, Schroeder has held various positions within the sales, technical sales and product development groups and, most recently, was a senior product development manager for color proofing. He has been responsible for the development of many of Fujifilm’s color proofing products, including the PictroProof and FINALPROOF digital proofing systems as well as the new Match Certified service, and the Aozora software.
“Don has continued to grow his knowledge of the graphic arts industry as well as Fujifilm’s color products and how those products fit in and benefit today’s users,” commented Richard Black, director of product development. “Both his experience and his working relationships with our R&D teams in Tokyo, our distributors and OEMs will benefit him greatly in this new role.”
A 15-year veteran of the graphic arts industry, Vanderlaan has spent the last nine years in the Graphic Systems Division. He began his career with Fujifilm in the company’s service department and has played an integral role on the product development team since 1998. In his new position, Vanderlaan will maintain a relationship with Fujifilm’s OEM manufacturers and with Fujifilm’s factory in England, where many of the output products are manufactured.
“Peter has been instrumental in the development of some of Fujifilm’s truly unique electronic imaging products, such as the Sumo and Ninja imagesetter as well as the family of Saber platesetters,” explained Black. “His experience, industry knowledge and communications skills make him uniquely qualified to head up our E.I output product group.”
