KeyCorp Chooses Exstream Software Dialogue for Enterprise Personalization

Press release from the issuing company

February 25, 2003 -- Exstream Software, Inc. announced today that KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY), one of the nations largest bank-based financial services companies, is using its Dialogue software to develop complex personalized trust and wealth management statements. The software allows KeyCorp to redesign existing customer communications, further reducing printing, paper and mailing costs. Using Dialogue, KeyCorp is not only improving the graphic presentation and design of bank statements, but also targeting specific customers by inserting pertinent marketing messages within the statements. They can also make quick formatting/presentation changes to statements that meet the dynamic needs of bank-related customer communications. Most new statement development within KeyCorp, as well as major enhancements to existing documents, will be accomplished using Dialogue. The primary drivers in choosing Dialogue were its ease of use, flexibility in statement design, campaign management capabilities and output of multiple print and electronic formats. Using Dialogue's campaign management suite, KeyCorp plans to maximize effectiveness of their bank statements by incorporating marketing campaigns based on individual customer needs into available "white space" around bank transaction details. Dialogue's robust capabilities will further support KeyCorp's goal to create more meaningful statements by including virtually any type of data-driven, variable charts, such as pie, line or bar charts, into the statements at run time. Additionally, Dialogue's user-friendly intuitive graphical user interface is making it possible for KeyCorp to easily design and prototype new statement formats, saving significant development time. “It's all about adding value for our customers,” said Doug Jacomine, vice president and division manager, Key Technology Services, KeyCorp's Technology Unit. “Dialogue provides us a solution to create statements that make complex information easy to understand and that translates to customer satisfaction. Improved formatting, combined with target marketing, brings benefits to our bottom line.” Dialogue allows KeyCorp to save money by easily changing the statement format to accommodate duplex printing, reduce the number of paper stocks required, and create smaller statements that can be mailed at a reduced cost. Dialogue's “design once, deliver anywhere” capability will lower KeyCorp's development costs by outputting to many different devices with one application design. “Because Dialogue is the only software solution available today that tightly integrates personalized document creation, campaign management and multi-channel delivery in one easy-to-use software suite, it readily meets the needs of financial companies such as KeyCorp to connect with a broad customer base in a way that is meaningful to the individual,” said Davis Marksbury, president and CEO of Exstream Software, Inc. “We are pleased that Dialogue's robust functionality offers KeyCorp this valuable opportunity. We are also happy to see Dialogue being used in its broadest sense—as the most cost-effective and efficient solution for the entire enterprise.”
