Agfa to Promote Print as The Medium of Choice to Print Buyers, Appoints Key Exec

Ridgefield Park, NJ - February 12, 2003 - Agfa Graphic Systems, as part of its mission to promote print as the medium of choice, announced today that industry veteran Mac Byrd has joined the Agfa Graphic Systems Marketing team. Byrd joins Agfa as Senior Manager, Brand Relationship Marketing. In his new role, Byrd will be aggressively promoting Agfa's solutions to print buyers, and emphasizing Agfa's commitment to print as the preferred communications medium. "Agfa is dedicated to the print industry and, as such, we feel it is important to recognize the changing role print buyers and brand managers play. The goal is to help guide print buyers through the myriad of media options - and the various opportunities available in other media - around today, emphasizing our commitment to print as the medium of choice," Byrd said. "There's a whole world of new media out there, and in many cases, they all revolve around the content created in print. The Internet, new venues of outdoor advertising, enterprise business management, emerging industry of visual satellite and cellular communications - they are all looking to print to provide the creative," Byrd added. Prior to joining Agfa, Byrd held a number of positions with Eastman Kodak. Most recently, Byrd was Kodak's senior worldwide B2B Marketing Director, where he was responsible for media buying and production in the entertainment industry. Byrd has also worked as a management consultant to the music, healthcare, security, not-for-profit and religious industries, as well as Conde Nast Publications, DuPont and Hoechst/Celanese Corporation. "We recognize that other companies and organizations are as passionate about print as we are, so we will actively be working with those who are interested in promoting print," said Susan Wittner, Agfa Marketing Director. "In the coming weeks and months, we will be rolling out a major campaign that provides tools to help promote the printing industry and demonstrates our support for and devotion to print as the medium of choice," Wittner added.
