Watkins Lithographic Implements Printcafe PSI Management System

Press release from the issuing company

PITTSBURGH, PA (January 28, 2002) - Printcafe Software, Inc., the operating system for print(TM), announced today that Watkins Lithographic Inc. of North Kansas City, Missouri has implemented the Printcafe PSI print management system and is already reaping the benefits of quicker estimating and job turn-around as a result. Founded in 1978, Watkins Lithographic Inc. has annual revenue of over $7 million and provides web and sheetfed printing for clients from coast to coast. "Implementing PSI across our facility has given us a single, integrated system which enables us to run a more organized, efficient operation," said Jason Watkins VP of Operations. "Previously our estimators would have to pull the actual paperwork out of files in order to check on job costs, but our PSI system now pulls these costs in automatically and as a result we are able to turn around estimates in almost half the time." In addition, Watkins Lithographic prints a high proportion of re-run jobs. "Instead of having to re-key the same job specification over and over again, our staff now have the information they need at their fingertips to quickly process the job and get it out to the customer fast," says Watkins. "We pride ourselves on producing jobs with competitive prices and fast turnaround and our PSI system enables us to service our customers even better." Printcafe's print management systems, including PSI, Logic and Hagen, serve as the foundation of a printer's business information system.
