Lucid Dream Slashes Price On PDFflow Software

Press release from the issuing company

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, January 20, 2003-Lucid Dream Software, developer of the many "flow" solutions for the Heidelberg Delta RIP, is slashing the price on its powerful PDFflow software. Designed to open new revenue streams by upgrading a Delta RIP to a PDF/X production platform, PDFflow is available for only $895. The cost of the software-whose files can be used in a wide variety of production applications, such as remote proofing and production, workflow connectivity, archiving, viewing and checking-was $3695. Part of a joint marketing program with Heidelberg, PDFflow is now available through your Heidelberg sales and service offices. PDFflow is ideal for package, high volume, wide-format and a wide variety of other printing environments. "A Delta RIP combined with PDFflow creates a full production platform to generate quality digital files, eliminating the need to purchase PDF/X 'distiller' tools which do only part of the work," says David Lewis, president, Lucid Dream Software. "PDFflow is the most efficient and cost-effective way of producing PDF 1.3 and PDF/X-1a files from a Delta RIP. More importantly, it continues the return on a firm's Delta investment and training." PDFflow uses a fast conversion system to translate data into PDF 1.3 and PDF/X-1a file formats from the same Delta List of the ripped and trapped original input page.  The system correctly converts spot colors to the DeviceN color space, allowing for correct composite or separated output of the PDF file and correct viewing in Acrobat version 4.0 or later. PDFflow also eliminates problems with missing fonts, disappearing overprints, or incorrectly rendered objects - harness the power of your Delta Rip - Delta Trapper - and PDFflow to create fully trapped PDF/X files! What's more, it substantially reduces file size when compared to a full resolution PDF files created from Delta by competitors' products using lossless compression. The resulting PDF/X file fully conforms to the PDF/X-1a specification, with no Acrobat plug-ins or proprietary software needed to view or output the files. PDFflow runs on the same workstation as the Delta RIP, and is called automatically by the Delta PrintManager to provide immediate conversion of Delta jobs. PDFflow can also be run manually to convert existing archived Delta jobs. PDFflow is available immediately from Heidelberg USA Inc. Interested resellers and consultants are welcome to inquire about becoming a Lucid Dream Software dealer for other Lucid products.
