GretagMacbeth Experiences Strong Growth in Color Management Solutions
Press release from the issuing company
Regensdorf, 16 January 2003 - Despite the general slowdown in the graphic arts and photo processing market sectors in 2002, GretagMacbeth (part of Amazys Holding AG based in Regensdorf, Switzerland), a worldwide leader in color measurement and management solutions, reports it is experiencing strong demand for its color management solutions. The growing market acceptance of the company's latest color management solutions, including the Eye-One(R) color management system for designers, photographers and the creative community at large, continues to fuel the company's success.
"Color management, once the exclusive realm of graphic arts experts, is no longer a niche application," says Thomas Vacchiano, CEO of Amazys Holding AG, parent company of GretagMacbeth. "The success of our latest generation of color management solutions is a testimonial to this new trend. In taking ease-of-use to a new level, these solutions fit into real world workflows and make consistent color reproduction accessible for a wider range of markets, from designers and photographers to publishers, printers and photo processors."
The Eye-One Beamer package announced at the Photokina trade show in October 2002 is the first color management solution to ensure that digital projectors deliver consistent color. This portable, easy-to-use solution has already captured the interest of creatives and corporate executives who give computer-based presentations both in the office and while traveling. At last, projected material matches print output, a must for client presentations.
In parallel, GretagMacbeth has been very successful in forging new strategic and marketing partnerships with a host of companies including EFI, Best GmbH (recently acquired by EFI), Creo and Scanvec Amiable. These partnerships, and others pursued by the company, broaden its distribution channels thus ensuring its color management solutions reach a wider audience than ever before.
Although the names are similar, GretagMacbeth AG should not be confused with Gretag Imaging AG nor should it be associated with any recent announcements about Gretag Imaging's financial condition. GretagMacbeth, a totally distinct company, continues to demonstrate excellent financial health and future potential.
In reporting its mid-2002 financial results, GretagMacbeth demonstrated both profitability and positive cash flow. The company has no outstanding debt and substantial cash reserves and it expects a significant increase in operating profit and net income on a full year basis.
