Mark Anderson Joins MIS Firm - Technique-Group

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL, 29-May-07 – Technique-Group has recently expanded its North American Operations by appointing Mark Anderson as V.P. of Professional Services. Mark previously served as Director of Professional Services for Hiflex Corp. Mark says “I was so impressed by Technique’s Print MIS product that I decided to join the company. The use of truly modern technology, such as SQL Server, XML and XSL, as well as a cutting edge user interface, a web-based sales enquiry module and their own DMI technology provide a great implementation platform. The production scheduling is one of the real gems in the system. Of all the MIS products I have ever seen, Technique’s is the first true replacement for a conventional planning board. It features real-time events and real-time SFDC integration. For example, the prep department can have a real-time view of the planning board showing the jobs that require plates in red and the sequence they are due to print. Another example would be the planner being able show color coding indicating all jobs that have plates ready, paper in and proofs approved.” He continues “Technique MIS supports all printing methods, but one of the things that impressed me the most was the richness of features for web printers (both heat-set and cold-set) and periodical and publication printers. On the publication side, the system allows the user to define folios, page-level color changes, complex versioning, import imposition schemes and then to produce a job ticket showing page-level color changes, plate changes and the imposition layout. None of this is really surprising, as the UK operation cut its teeth on Europe’s largest publication printer, so the ease and elegance of multi-site, multi-company operations makes the product ideal for larger printers.” Mark closes by commenting “The fact that the system is truly modular is a real bonus. Printers looking to solve their immediate problems, such as production scheduling or estimating, can start with the modules they need and expand further with other modules from Technique. Conversely, they can buy just the modules they need and integrate these with their existing products. Paul Cooper, CEO stated "I was delighted to receive Mark’s call and we’re very happy to have him on board at a key stage in our North American growth. He brings a wealth of additional domain knowledge and JDF expertise to Technique. With a recent number of large orders and a very healthy pipeline in North America, we are rapidly growing this geographic region; the first step in this growth was to install more key staff. Mark will head up the technical side of the North American operation, while Dave Noll (V.P. Sales) continues to spearhead the sales operation.” About Mark Anderson Mark has worked in the Graphic Arts for over 20 years and is an expert on workflow engineering and systems integration. He has held positions with several major pre-press and MIS vendors in project management, consultancy, product management, research and development, and international marketing roles in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. In addition to Mark's printing industry background, he also studied communications engineering in England and studied and taught graduate-level computer science courses at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is currently V.P. of Professional Services for Technique Inc, a Certified JDF Expert, and a registered CIP4 speaker.
