SMART Papers Issues Free Print Demo Kit

Press release from the issuing company

HAMILTON, Ohio, May 30, 2007 -- North American graphics professionals now have access to a new print demonstration of high-end coated and uncoated papers printed on HP Indigo, Kodak NexPress and Xerox iGen3 digital presses. The new print demos are available at no charge by calling 513-869-5149 or visiting www.smartpapers.com/digital. SMART Papers offers the widest selection of premium glossy, matte and uncoated papers for digital presses. It created the compact print demonstration kits to help printers and designers ensure they’re picking the right paper for the digital presses they use—and for the print job at hand. The three kits show individual print samples on a variety of papers for their specific digital press. The papers demonstrated are SMART Papers’s flagship Kromekote family of papers as well as Knightkote Matte, Pegasus and Carnival paper brands. “For the first time, printers and designers can choose digital papers for OEM-branded digital presses with total confidence,” said SMART Papers president and chief operating officer Dan Maheu. “Those who’ve already used the print demo kits say they save them time, money and hassle—and, perhaps most important, avoid costly mistakes of selecting the wrong paper for their specific digital press.” In addition to papers for HP Indigo, Xerox iGen3 and Kodak NexPress, the company’s papers are also designed to work in presses and production-rated color copiers from all major OEMs worldwide. These new print samples are practical tools for printers, allowing them to quickly view what they are capable of producing when they have the papers they know will perform flawlessly on the digital presses they use. For more information regarding the print demonstration kits visit www.smartpapers.com /digital or call the SMART Papers digital product manager at 513-869-5149. Details on the print sample kits follow. HP Indigo The HP Indigo sample kit includes the company’s advanced line of IN•fusion papers. SMART’s second generation of IN•fusion technology optimizes toner transfer and toner adhesion. The photographic images are printed on non-sapphire treated Kromekote, Knightkote Matte, and Carnival IN•fusion sheets—each with different finishes. The samples demonstrate the various sizes and thickness available in its coated gradeline with the Kromekote 10-pt. High Gloss C1S and the Knightkote Matte coated C2S 80-lb. text and cover. Also included is the uncoated, sapphire-treated Pegasus Brilliant White in a 110-lb. double thick cover (DTC) with a 98-brightness. Kodak NexPress To demonstrate the capabilities of the Kodak NexPress glossing unit, the print samples have images printed on Kromekote Laser High Gloss C1S 10-pt. cover, with the application of the post-press’s glossing unit both on and off. The Pegasus Digital Color Copy 80-lb. cover with its Super Smooth finish shows off the clarity and capabilities of this premium uncoated paper. Xerox iGen3 The print quality and versatility of the Kromekote line is shown again in the Xerox iGen3 printed samples. SMART Papers displays the depth and contrast of the Kromekote Color Laser Texture line with its Kromekote C1S 10-pt cover with Canvas finish. The Kromekote Laser High Gloss C1S 10-pt. cover and new 14-pt. folding board, specifically designed for packaging, are demonstrated as well. A sample using the premium uncoated Pegasus Digital Color Copy 80-lb. text with Super Smooth finish is also included in the print demonstrations.
