Quad/Graphics to open Imaging Service Center in San Francisco

Press release from the issuing company

December 17, 2002 -- Move over, Barry Bonds and Rice A Roni. A new San Francisco treat is about to take The City by the Bay by storm. In March 2003, Quad/Graphics will open its newest Imaging regional service center in downtown San Francisco, where the world’s largest privately held printer is well positioned to expand its services. Local catalogers, publishers, direct marketers, retailers and other businesses will be able to enjoy improved quality, reduced cycle times and the ability to include fresher content in their printed products. The new center, located in the China Basin area on the east side of the San Francisco peninsula, will become the 16th site in Quad/Graphics’ Imaging network of regional service centers, customer service centers, processing centers and print centers. Like the printer’s six other regional service centers (in Anaheim, Minneapolis, Dallas, New York City, Boston and Washington, D.C.), the San Francisco site will offer clients face-to-face customer service and onsite color management and output services with the backing of the entire Quad/Graphics network. Quad/Graphics’ San Francisco Sales force will move to the new downtown facility from its current Sausalito office. “This new center is part of Quad/Graphics’ long-standing strategy of growing internally and expanding our ‘One Company, One Process’ platform,” said Quad/Graphics President and CEO Tom Quadracci. “It is an investment in the company, an investment in employees and an investment in clients.” Several Bay Area clients including Conde Nast’s Wired title are preparing to partner with Quad/Graphics in the new center. “Being in the San Francisco area affords continuous opportunities for us to learn what our clients needs are in that market,” said 17-year Quad/Graphics Imaging veteran Paul Schroeder, who will manage operations in San Francisco. “This will help us know which technology and services best fit their businesses so that we can continue to give them the service and quality they expect.” The ideally located facility, which will be seamlessly linked to every Quad/Graphics print-production site via high-speed telecommunications systems, is in a vibrant neighborhood just off the San Francisco Bay and across the street from Pacific Bell Park. It is just blocks away from Market Street and a number of Quad/Graphics’ clients and prospects. On the inside, the center will feature the same modern, high-tech equipment and technology used at all of the company’s Imaging sites.
