May 29, 2007 -- Clemson University’s Department of Graphic Communications will conduct one of its most timely and popular symposia, Color Measurement and Management, June 27-29, 2007. The program features 2.5 days of sessions that join industry experts and innovators with Clemson faculty to provide a unique blend of lecture, discussion and intensive hands-on lab experience.
Participants will learn workflow for color reproduction, calibration and use of color measurement devices, techniques for profiling scanners, digital cameras, computer monitors, proofing systems and press capabilities, and the application of these tools and techniques to ensure consistent and repeatable color reproduction. The real-time, real workflow, real pressroom sessions teach hands-on color management from image capture to final printed piece.
All printing processes will be considered including flexography, offset, gravure, screen and digital printing and there is plenty of opportunity for discussion with the presenters and networking with other attendees. The rate is $795 per person and includes most meals, social hours and an evening dinner event with the presenters. Group rates are also available for three or more.
Joining Sam Ingram, Jay Sperry, Liam O’Hara and Eric Weisenmiller of Clemson University will be Adjunct Professors Chip Tonkin, recently the manager of International Paper’s Beverage Pre-Press Center, and Larry Evans of Printing Services, Inc. Also scheduled are Steve Smiley of Vertis, Roy Bohnen of Tekgraf/NewVision, Richard Black of APR, Inc and Brian Ashe of X-Rite.
