MAN Roland Comments on Sheetfed Restructuring Measures

Press release from the issuing company

December 2, 2002 -- After intensive discussions, management and the Works Council of MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG have reached agreement on the fundamental restructuring measures planned for the sheet-fed press sector. As announced, the operations of three Offenbach plants are being consolidated at a single location in order to reduce fixed costs and streamline production structures. The functions of the rented Klein-Krotzenburg facilities and the Christian Pless street operations in the city center will be integrated into the central plant (Plant 2) at the Mühlheimer street location. The necessary redesign of available space in the central plant will reduce the scope of the mechanical production department. As a result, workplace adjustments will be necessary, the number of employees will be reduced by 373. These women and men will be enrolled in a professional qualification and job placement agency.
