Printable Technologies Inc. Licenses Invenix Freight Management Software

Press release from the issuing company

San Francisco, Calif., November 25, 2002 – Invenix, a leading provider of business process optimization software, today announced that Printable Technologies Inc. has licensed Invenix's Freight Management software and will integrate it into the PrintOne Customer Center software, which is currently used by several thousand enterprise customers. Invenix’s solution will provide Printable’s customers with real-time shipping cost quotes for products being ordered and requisitioned from warehouses. “Our client base demands the kind of accurate and timely freight information that Invenix will help us provide and we are very pleased to be able to add this important component to our suite of applications,” said Coleman Kane, President and CEO of Printable Technologies. “By providing customers with shipping costs and shipping options in real time at the time of order placement, Invenix's Freight Management software reduces costs for both the customer and supplier,” added Jan J. Sevcik, President and CEO of Invenix. “Our solution will provide immediate value to Printable’s customers.” The Invenix Freight Management software calculates an order's real-time shipping costs by performing order cubing, box selection, weight calculations, and shipper rate calculations using both parcel and LTL carriers. The solution licensed by Printable includes the printed products configurator, which calculates volume and weight for printed items based on quantity, product dimensions, paper weight, and other job specifications including folding, binding, and shrinkwrapping. “Without the print configuration module, it would be cost prohibitive to set up an application to provide real-time shipping costs for printed items because the weight and volume of each item would have to be calculated in advance,” said Jan J. Sevcik. With Invenix’s software, at the time Printable’s customers check out in the shopping cart they will have options for shipping methods such as next day, two day, and regular ground. Upon selection of the shipping method, the customer will receive a real-time shipping quote. Invenix also announced today that it will release a hosted, stand-alone version of its Freight Management application in December 2002. Invenix develops business process optimization software that focuses on cost reduction. The company’s patented print procurement and spend management suite reduces enterprise printing costs by automating quotes based on process costs and by providing extensive reporting. The freight management solution provides order cubing, box selection, weight calculations, and shipper rate calculations using both parcel and LTL carriers in real time. The e-commerce order management solution streamlines on-line purchases. The point of sale collateral management solution reduces collateral waste by improving the efficiency of the planning, production, and distribution processes involved in a POS collateral program. Invenix is a privately held company based in San Francisco, California. Invenix was co-founded in 1999 by president and CEO Jan J. Sevcik.
