Industry Education Web Portal Offers Education Discounts Section

Press release from the issuing company

November 20, 2002 -- A new "Education Discounts" section on the industry’s education portal GRAPHIC COMM CENTRAL provides suppliers with an opportunity to market products directly to graphic communications programs at the nation’s schools. Using the Education Discounts section, suppliers can promote special discounts available to educators only. These discounts must be 10 percent lower than any other discount offered. The section both provides an opportunity for suppliers to put their products in the hands of future graphic communications industry employees and assists the school programs to obtain the most current technology for their students. There is no charge for posting these special discounts to educators. Free offers to educators may also be posted. For full information on the new program, visit the section at http://teched.vt.edu/gcc, or contact GRAPHIC COMM CENTRAL manager Dr. Mark Sanders at Virginia Polytechnic and State University, telephone 540/231-8173 or e-mail [email protected]. Since 1997, GRAPHIC COMM CENTRAL has been the portal for Graphic Communications teachers and students. It provides access to thousands of educational resources. The site is currently accessed about 200,000 times a month by educators and their students and others in the industry. GRAPHIC COMM CENTRAL is funded by a grant from the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF“). For more information about the Foundation and its programs, visit the GAERF web site at www.npes.org/gaerf/home.html or call toll-free 866/381-9839.
