Standard Register Forms Strategic Alliance With Plus Technologies
Press release from the issuing company
DAYTON, Ohio--Nov. 19, 2002--Standard Register today announced an alliance with Plus Technologies, a division of Digital Controls Corporation. With this alliance, Standard Register will enhance the output management capabilities of its LinkUp Enterprise and Patient LinkUp Enterprise solutions. This enhancement will come through the addition of Plus Technologies' OM Plus software, which provides advanced document delivery, conditioning and printer management features. Adding OM Plus to the LinkUp product family gives Standard Register customers additional document output management capabilities that will streamline the administration of print jobs to printers and other output destinations such as fax machines, e-mail systems and the Web.
Standard Register's LinkUp Enterprise and Patient LinkUp Enterprise are leading document output management programs that convert raw data from business applications into richly formatted documents which are subsequently routed to a variety of output devices, such as distributed printers, e-mail, fax machines and pagers. OM Plus enhances LinkUp with bi-directional printer communication, trigger-based routing, real time print monitoring, additional system security and archive retrieval functions. These capabilities add significant value to the LinkUp products making them more robust and easier to manage.
OM Plus helps facilitate the migration from individual paper-based solutions to flexible enterprise software that is management-based, bridging the gap between a paper-intensive environment and one that is highly automated. As an enterprise-wide solution, it routes documents and electronic information to the desired location--whether on site or at a remote facility. With little or no impact to the host application, it can increase the speed and flexibility of presenting information while reducing cost, complexity and errors.
According to Tim Spencer, general manager of Standard Register Document Systems, "Plus Technologies has solved the intermediary stage for document delivery. With the integration of OM Plus, Standard Register's LinkUp software can not only route and deliver to a host of common printer solutions, but it can also re-route and report back on deliveries."
Mike Visser, vice president and general manager of Plus Technologies, stated, "The marriage of LinkUp and OM Plus technologies provides Standard Register customers with incremental value previously not available. Our partnered solution allows print status confirmation and helps in the streamlining of delivery processes, such as those commonly associated with check printing and kit printing. The new functionality offers customers added value while helping to reduce their operating costs."
