Press release from the issuing company

SUSSEX, Wis.---Nov. 8, 2002-- The same world-class manufacturing expertise and advanced technology that helped make Quad/Graphics a printing industry leader is now available to businesses outside the graphics arts sector. Quad/Graphics' award-winning research and design division, Quad/Tech, is extending its expertise and capabilities to the contract manufacturing, and design and factory automation sector, and will showcase its business offerings at an open house with guided tours. Quad/Tech Open House with Guided Tours Tuesday, November 12, 2002 - Noon to 6 p.m. Quad/Tech's Headquarters - N64 W23110 Main Street, Sussex Guided Tours Offered Continuously "We are pleased to share the amazing level of talent and technology that has helped propel Quad/Graphics to success, and advance the capabilities of the entire printing industry," said Thomas A. Quadracci, president and CEO of Quad/Graphics. "Quad/Tech's wide range of design and manufacturing capabilities will now be able to help businesses in other sectors become even more competitive." Quad/Tech, which also operates under the name QTI, began offering its design and manufacturing services to other businesses earlier this year and, already, has a list of success stories with companies in the medical, plastics, food and beverage, automotive and paper industries. "Our reputation as a lean manufacturer and leader in process and factory automation systems already has sparked sizable interest from organizations outside the printing arena," said Ingermar d'Agrella, Vice President of QTI Operations and General Manager of Commercial Operations. "The fact that we've made our own processes as efficient as possible has long translated into quicker turnarounds and less cost for our customers. Now, we're happy to pass those efficiencies on to a larger group of businesses." Quad/Tech offers a comprehensive range of capabilities, including concept and design through installation and maintenance of everything from microelectronics to heavy machinery. The group's expertise includes design and manufacture of an expansive group of items, including circuit cards, high sophisticated electronics, visions systems, controls, PLCs, operator displays, and small and heavy equipment. "In today's economy, Quad/Graphics' size, strength and stability are real advantages," noted Mr. d'Agrella. "Our clients know that when we take on a project, we'll be around not only to finish it, but to maintain it, if they so desire." Plus, as a worldwide organization, Quad/Tech has the ability to provide one piece of equipment locally - or hundreds for locations globally - all with the same superior quality that has become Quad/Tech's hallmark.
