Howard Fenton Joins NAPL as Digital Technologies Consultant

PARAMUS, N.J., Nov. 1, 2002 – Howard (Howie) Fenton has joined the staff of the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) as senior consultant, digital technologies. Fenton is well known throughout the graphic arts industry for his technical expertise and extensive writing, training, lecturing, and consulting work. “We are extremely pleased to have Howie join the NAPL staff,” said I. Gregg Van Wert, NAPL president and CEO, in making the announcement. “He brings with him extensive insights into the wide range of digital technology issues that printers face—insights that are sure to benefit our members in myriad ways.” Previously, Fenton served for six years as the senior consultant of digital technology for the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) and, prior to that, was editor of Pre, a magazine covering the prepress industry. In conducting technical plant assessments, Fenton specialized in helping his clients maximize their performance in digital printing and technologies, prepress workflow, quality control, and color management. A prolific writer on industry issues, Fenton has contributed to numerous industry publications, written newsletters, and authored books on industry topics, including On-Demand Printing: The Revolution in Digital Printing and Customized Printing and The On-Demand and Digital Printing Primer.. Fenton conducts more than 100 seminars a year at such major conferences as Seybold Seminars, Agfa Across America educational seminars, Banta Technovation Seminars, and Apple Power Tools for Publishing Seminars. He also teaches workshops at the Rochester Institute of Technology on PDF, on-demand printing, and computer-to-plate.
