Press release from the issuing company
ANAHEIM, CA, OCTOBER 28, (Xplor booth # 632)—Oce, a leader in digital document management and delivery technology, today announced a new line of cut sheet printing systems. The new Oce VarioPrint 5000 family is designed to enable transactional data printing and other publishing operations to perform more effectively in convergent, multi-vendor document environments.
Engineered to perform as an integral part of true end-to-end document solutions, the next-generation Oce VarioPrint 5000 cut sheet family will be showcased for the first time in Booth 632 at the Xplor 23rd Global Electronic Document Systems Conference and Exhibit. Highlighting the company’s capabilities in supporting complex multi-vendor and convergent environments, the new family of cut sheet systems is based on the Oce Adaptable Imaging Architecture (AIA).
Translating a 25-year history of leadership and scalable production product development into a hardware architecture that addresses modern document production challenges, Oce’s Adaptable Imaging Architecture combines proven achievements with new technology and capabilities to deliver a future-proof hardware platform for flexible growth and expansion.
Raising the industry-wide performance benchmark for digital cut sheet printer performance, the new Oce VarioPrint 5000 product line is distinguished by high output speeds that start at 100 images per minute. The VarioPrint systems support an extremely wide range of applications, input and output media and print volumes. And for easier operation, they are equipped with a unique, integrated operator panel that simplifies job and printer administration.
With the Oce VarioPrint 5000 family, customers can effectively handle diverse applications including high-volume transactional, sophisticated publishing, and complex convergent applications. The systems also accommodate diverse page description languages and come equipped with multiple interfaces which can accommodate ESCON, TCPIP, S370 and more.
"With the new line of Oce VarioPrint 5000 cut sheet systems, customers in both corporate and commercial print environments are strategically positioned to benefit in several critical ways—the new technology is designed to help improve uptime and productivity, to support demanding throughput volumes and help customers get to market faster with new applications, " stated Carl Joachim, vice president of marketing for Oce Printing Systems USA, Inc. "These benefits are underscored by a benefit that pays an ongoing dividend over time—the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership."
Providing the flexible production tools today’s corporate and commercial print operations require, the Oce VarioPrint 5000 systems support a wide range of substrates and application types including labels, tabs, forms, checks, lightweight and glossy stock, and ledger size forms with highlight color and multiple image resolutions.
Highlight color systems employ enhanced Quick Change Developer Station technology, enabling highlight color printing with MICR or monochrome and CustomTone toner to match corporate colors for highlight applications with customized forms. An integrated operator panel enables improved efficiency and minimal operator intervention, and integrated finishing capabilities enable end-to-end printing in a single system.
Engineered for Customizable Performance and Secure Investment Protection
To ensure long-term investment protection, the Oce VarioPrint 5000 systems are designed for easy customization. The systems are scalable to support multiple resolutions, and multiple toner types including color and MICR. Users can easily expand input and output capacity with selectable drawers and enable complete solutions with extensive finishing options like high capacity stacking, stapling, stitching, and binding, all of which allows today’s print operations to make the most of their digital assets.
Demonstrating the multi-functional, convergent advantage that the Oce VarioPrint technology offers today’s print customers, the Oce VarioPrint 5115 will be shown at Xplor printing a multi-page newsletter, on ledger-sized paper with highlight color, and a personalized, multi-page insurance statement. An Oce VarioPrint 5160 will be shown producing a personalized cookbook with five tabbed sections customized to users’ specifications. It will also produce a health care provider directory.
