Standard Finishing Systems, Horizon, and Hunkeler Cover the Landscape

(Andover, Massachusetts) – At Xplor, October 28 - 30, 2002, Standard Finishing Systems, Horizon, and Hunkeler will be partnering with many digital printer manufacturers, including IBM, Ikon, Oce, and Xerox, to show a wide range of print on demand feeding and finishing solutions. In the IBM Printing Systems’ booth (#354) a Standard Hunkeler roll-to-stack solution will be shown in-line with IBM’s fastest new printing system, the Infoprint 4100 HD3/HD4. The pre/post system includes the Standard Hunkeler UW4 unwinder and the CS4 Wide Pinless Cutter/Stacker, which will have UP3i-controlled set-up and changeover for automation and efficiency. The system features a core-driven unwinder with integrated autoload for simple paper roll handling, an intelligent operator interface to guide the operator through all operating steps, a precision rotary cutting system for accurate, reliable high-speed performance. The new Standard Hunkeler SF4-H Roll-To-Sheet Feeder will be shown in-line with the new Canon imageRUNNER Pro 150+ high-speed laser printer in the Ikon booth (#855). The SF4-H has been designed exclusively for the Heidelberg Digimaster 9110/9150, Canon imageRUNNER Pro 150+, and IBM infoprint 2000 printers, delivering 40,000 sheets or up to 18 hours of non-stop printing. In the Oce Printing Systems booth (#632), Standard Hunkeler and Oce, are showing an in-line system for the production of direct mailers. This consists of the Standard Hunkeler UW4 Unwinder, the new Oce VarioStream 7400 Twin Printing System, and the Standard Hunkeler CS4 Wide Cutter/Stacker. The CS4W rotary cutter delivers consistently accurate cut sheets, at speeds up to 300 feet per minute. Standard is also well represented with equipment in Xerox booth (#900). A Standard Hunkeler CS4 Wide Cutter/Stacker will be in-line with the Xerox DP700 continuous-feed printer, producing book blocks that will be perfect bound off-line on the new, fully-automated Standard Horizon BQ-270 Perfect Binder. The Standard Horizon ColorWorks 2000, an innovative all-in-one document finisher, will also be shown in line with a DocuColor 6060 Digital Color Press.
