Standard Hunkeler Introduces the fully Automated FS4 Spiral Folder
Press release from the issuing company
Andover, Massachusetts – At Xplor, October 28–30 in Anaheim, Standard Finishing Systems will introduce the Standard Hunkeler FS4 Spiral Folder for continuous-form print applications. The FS4 Spiral Folder sports industry-first features, including fully automated set up and centralized format changes with no requirement for manual adjustments. The FS4 is capable of operating in-line to the latest and fastest generation of continuous forms printers, and can also operate off-line, for the fan-folding of preprinted rolls.
Changeover times are dramatically reduced with the FS4 and productivity is greatly enhanced particularly on short-to-medium run lengths. Up to 6 different jobs can be pre-programmed and called up via the centralized control console. The descending stacker holds piles up to 28 inches, and can be unloaded while running for maximum productivity. An optional high-capacity stack and cart system is also available.
According to David R. Reny, vice president and managing director, Standard Finishing Systems, "The FS4 Spiral Folder brings a new level of automation and productivity to the transaction and mailroom printing markets, where faster continuous-feed digital print engines are changing the way companies do business. Standard Hunkeler remains at the forefront, offering new technology to help our customers be more efficient and productive."
The FS4 can fan fold at speeds up to 492 feet/minute, in-line or off-line. Paper rolls from 8 to 20 inches wide can be folded in heights from 7 to 14 inches on the FS4. An optional stack turning module is also available to achieve correct sequencing with the stacks.
