IKON Expands Document Management Initiative with Westbrook
Press release from the issuing company
Adds Document Management Solutions from Westbrook Technologies, Inc. to its Portfolio
VALLEY FORGE, Pa. Oct. 16, 2002--IKON Office Solutions, Inc. today announced the expansion of its electronic document management solutions offerings to include industry-leading solutions provider, Westbrook Technologies, Inc. Through this expansion, IKON expects to better serve the information sharing and storage needs of its customers, providing a seamless workflow of capture, archive and access -- anytime, anywhere.
IKON's electronic document management solutions are designed to leverage the document imaging capabilities of digital multifunction devices or standalone scanners from Canon, Ricoh and other manufacturers to convert paper-based documents to digital format. As electronic files, documents can be quickly searched and retrieved from anywhere on the network -- LAN, WAN or VPN -- improving customer service capabilities through more efficient access to information. Additionally, an IKON electronic document management solution will reclaim space currently used for filing traditional paper documents, potentially eliminating costly off-site storage as well.
"Information is growing exponentially within organizations and IKON's electronic document management solutions will allow these businesses to categorize, index and instantaneously retrieve critical corporate data, improving their ability to serve their customers," said Cathy Lewis, Senior Vice President of Marketing, IKON Office Solutions. "Best of all, our document management solutions enhance the capabilities of equipment already installed at customer sites, maximizing existing technology investments while fulfilling new demands and objectives."
Westbrook Technologies' products currently available for sale, delivery and implementation through IKON include File Magic 5 Series and Fortis. File Magic 5 Series is a Windows-based application targeted at departments or organizations that require access for up to 25 concurrent users. Fortis is Westbrook Technologies' enterprise offering which supports an unlimited number of users and is built on industry-standard SQL databases like Centura SQLBase, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and Informix. Fortis also offers a browser interface with the optional PowerWeb module, a workflow solution with the Inflo module, and a COLD/ERM solution with Fortis ERM.
"Westbrook Technologies is pleased to add IKON Office Solutions to its reseller channel. We are confident that businesses will benefit from IKON's thorough understanding of the role documents play within an organization and the company's ability to build an efficient, application-based solution to information challenges," said Sean Donegan, President of Westbrook Technologies, Inc. "The scalability of Westbrook's File Magic 5 Series and Fortis, integrated with IKON's lineup of image capture solutions, provides a turnkey solution that can evolve with customer needs."
