Press release from the issuing company

Heidelberg expands Digimaster product family with high-productivity, 150-image-per-minute printer Heidelberg Digimaster 9150i Network Imaging System delivers three to five million monthly impressions October 2, 2002 -- Print providers worldwide will benefit from higher productivity and greater reliability, employing the new Digimaster 9150i Network Imaging System developed by Heidelberg. The Digimaster 9150i print system enables 150-image-per-minute digital black-and-white printing. It broadens the company’s overall digital printing solutions portfolio and extends the Digimaster product family for the digital high-volume black-and-white printing market. “Since 1999, our Digimaster 9110 print engine has provided customers with a high-performance alternative in the digital, high-volume black-and-white market,” said Wolfgang Pfizenmaier, president of Heidelberg’s Digital Solution Center. “Now, with our Digimaster 9150i system, we are again redefining the black-and-white segment - offering a faster-speed product that delivers the superior image quality customers have grown accustomed to from our 9110 print engine.” The new print system employs state-of-the-art Heidelberg technology to match the performance of the Digimaster 9110 machine, while delivering additional key benefits for print providers: -- Greater productivity by enabling 150-image-per-minute speed throughout the system - maintaining the rated speed even when used with accessories and finishing equipment. -- High uptime - equal to or greater than the Digimaster 9110 system - at higher print volumes. -- An enhanced duty cycle of three- to five-million impressions per month, resulting from the system’s standard paper storage capacity of 8,000 sheets and maximum capacity of 12,000 sheets (with post-process inserter). -- Improved digital workflow, with the ability to produce greater print volumes without increasing staffs or extending shifts. -- Scalable configurations, similar to current Digimaster 9110 system options, to let customers choose the system that best meets their needs. Options include several hardware and software accessories, including Imagedirect 665 scanner, ImageSmart software, roll feeders, post-process inserter, booklet maker, perfect binder and stacker. Like the Digimaster 9110 machine, the Digimaster 9150i system provides a short, straight paper path for superior paper handling and a resolution of 600x600 dpi. It also employs small–particle developer and Gray Resolution Enhancement Technology to deliver high-quality documents with sharper text, crisper halftones and richer graphics. The Digimaster 9150i will be distributed through Heidelberg and be available in Europe as of November 2002.
