Time Inc. Using Prinergy Publish...
Time Inc., the world's leading magazine company, has recently adopted a PDF-based internal workflow and is now working with digital ads in the PDF/X-1a:2001 format. Creo is part of the solution Time Inc. has adopted to support these decisions. Time Inc. is using Prinergy Publish software to process ad files to a standardized format (such as PDF/X-1a) for many of its titles, including Time. Prinergy Publish software will also allow Time Inc. to take advantage of the emerging JDF format and to grow its information architecture in support of standard industry production practices.
About Prinergy Publish...
The Prinergy Publish system enables publishers, trade shops and ad agencies to standardize file formats, creating a simplified, automated, efficient workflow that allows greater control over output quality and the ability to easily repurpose ad and editorial content for use in other media. Easy to use, Prinergy Publish gives users full control of page preparation for proofing and file exchange with a single mouse click. They can use PDF or PDF/X-1a files as the digital master format in the Prinergy(r) workflow and can select from multiple file format options for outputting files. The process can be completely automated by using the hot folder functionality of the Prinergy workflow.
"Prinergy Publish software increases control over content preparation," explains Stefan Steinle, Prinergy Publish product manager at Creo. "It allows you to streamline and automate page preparation and ensures that the generated files can be printed hassle-free in the production workflow."
Prinergy Publish features an Oracle(r) database for workflow management, job tracking and reporting. The system also includes two full licenses of the Synapse(r) InSite Internet portal for job submission, remote proofing, online collaboration and job management.
The Prinergy Publish system integrates seamlessly with the production workflow solutions (either Creo systems or those from a third-party vendor) at the print site. A Prinergy Publish system helps to simplify and automate the page preparation and proofing workflow, enabling greater integration and collaboration between print buyers and print providers, from idea to delivery.
The Prinergy Publish system is part of the awarding-winning family of Prinergy workflow from Creo, the most innovative and flexible workflow management solution available to leverage the power of PDF. Based on state-of-the-art technologies and open industry-standards such as the Adobe(r) portable job ticket format (PJTF) and PDF, Prinergy is a complete workflow management tool for CTF and CTP.
