Focus on One-to-One Business Communications
Hampstead, NH & Santiago, Chile, August 28, 2002 - Xerox Corporation's Santiago, Chile headquarters was the venue for a special customer education event about relationship marketing and one-to-one business communications. Keynote speaker, OnDemand Publishing's Paul White, addressed a diversified ad agency, graphic arts, retail and finance audience of more than 150. The purpose of the event, according to Andrés Bayor, Xerox Chile's Marketing Manager, "Is to educate the Chilean market about one-to-one business communications and share successful U.S. customer success stories which are also applicable here in Chile".
Using simultaneous English to Spanish translation, Mr. White cited market statistics and presented a compelling case for establishing enduring customer communication and feedback for building secure customer relationships. According to White, "In order to retain satisfied customers, you must first establish customer dialog and interaction. Without interaction, there is no relationship". White went on to say, "Actual results bear out the claim that personalized and customized direct mail (PCDM), unlike the 'To The Occupant' variety of direct mail, has a greater likelihood of being opened. When PCDM is opened and acted upon, it generates a 50% higher sales transaction amount than non PCDM mail." White's presentation concluded using a four quadrant matrix and asking attendees to self evaluate their own company's position and ability to embark on a relationship marketing initiative. Others making presentations were Thomas Dittborn of Dittborn & Unzueta, a relationship marketing firm and Alvardo Castro, Director of Operations for Empresas Jordan S.A., a full service one-to-one marketing, data management and printing firm. Both companies are located in Santiago.
At the conclusion of the program, attendees enjoyed a buffet dinner and conversation with the speakers. Several printed examples of full color, personalized business communications were on hand for attendees to review.
